Savage Ejector Pin Question

Alright, folks, need a bit of help here. I was having issues with ejecting rounds, so I figured this was the cause: I am trying to replace the ejector pin and spring in my model 10fcp-k's bolt. I was able to knock the retaining pin out, and then the actual ejector came out, but the ejector spring is not coming out. Any of you folks have any clue as to how I could get this puppy out?

While I have you on the line, might I inquire as to how this goes back together? I will place the new ejector spring in, then the ejector pin, but do I need to press the ejector pin down while I replace the retaining pin? Maybe press it down so it is flush with the bolt face?

I hope this makes sense. I also wished that I was knowledgeable enough to ask these seemingly mundane questions, but I'm learning as I go...thanks for the help!

To line up the plunger, place a fired case into the bolt face and tape it in place. Drive the pin in and remove the fired case.

Try a small drill bit by hand to loosen the old spring

thanks, Mike. All those tips helped me to finally fix the damn thing. No more manually pulling cases out of the chamber!! Hooray!
