I think that the best way to avoid extraction/ejection malfunctions with the Savage Action is to avoid the ammunition issues that lead to those malfunctions.
Very simply put, F/L resize your brass, avoid the hot end of the pressure spectrum, and note that many Savage .308 throats are cut a bit short, so seating bullets long is both unnecessary (if chambering a round is hard that is made with brass that chambers OK after resizing, the bullet is seated overlong), and can contribute to pressure spikes that lead to E/E malfunctions. When handloading, be sure your powder charge consists of propellants that do not get psychotic at high environmental temperatures. If you end up popping a primer, you are operating in an excessive pressure environment; retire that batch of handloads.
