I'll start this by saying that I am new to this site. I was about to join another site and ask this question, but after reading one post that turned out to be nothing more than arguing and insults, I left it without joining. The person that asked a question, was new to the site just as I would have been, and he never did get his question answered.

With that said, I will ask if anyone on here owns one of these rifles and if so I would like to know what they think. I have been interested in the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge for several years and have wanted to own a rifle chambered for it. I do own a Savage Model 12 varminter in .223 and love it. I'm interested in buying (if I can find one) a Savage Model 10 FCP-SR in 6.5 Creedmoor with a 24" barrel. I have read a lot about them recently and watched some video's on YouTube, but would like to hear from someone else who actually owns one. I have read and heard that the 6.5 shoots best from a 24" barrel, but not sure about that either. I was in a gun store here where I live the other day and they have in stock a Savage Model 10 in 6.5 Creedmoor, but it is more of a tactical rifle than a hunting rifle. I think it is the Savage Model 10 Ashbury, and I would really be interested in that gun as well. I would really appreciate any input about either of these guns if anyone would care to comment on them.

Thanks very much

Savage is a great rifle. I have one in 308 in the PX section for sale. Great starter rifle. I have put many a bullet in one hole with multiple savages that I own. I'm only selling because I purchased a Barrrett MRAD. Get out and shoot and let the results speak for themselves. Don't let anyone tell you its a less of a rifle than anything elseout there!!

Savage rifles will do well for you. I have owned several, and that is just about all I own now. They do shoot well, even if we are not on the "cool side of the tracks".

Thanks guy's. I found that a farm and industrial store here where I live has a Model 10 Ashbury in 6.5 Creedmoor for just over $1,000.00 I think I will buy it and live with it. Will let you folks know how it shoots, which I'm pretty sure is going to be very good.
