Who do you guys use for a cheap savage prefit? Not looking for anything to pricey. Doing a barrel burner and want to test a few things before going big on a better barrel ect.

Call James at northland shooter supply! Good guy to deal with. He stocks Shilen and Criterion.I just got a Shilen select match in 260 Rem. and its a shooter .
I use criterion barrels from him blanks to prefits. They just don't make a fast twist 25 cal barrel. And shilen only makes a 1-7 need 1-7.5 to 1-8

Also I have a 6.5 Creedmoor X-caliber savage pre fit that I put on my Origin action and it’s also a great shooter.

Anthony Ward, Crown Ridge Barrel Works. Sub $400 for barrel nut barrels and he normally has some in stock ready to ship. He uses X-Caliber blanks. If you have a special request for contour and he has a blank, his turn around is normally a couple days. I ordered one on a Friday and it was here on Tuesday.
