This rifle is new. After the first shot of factory Hornady ammo on a cold barrel, the second case stays stuck, and third and so on. I must push it out with a steel rod. I cannot even open the bolt.It is jammed but the weight of the steel rod pops it out. Any clues?

Re: Savager 110 FCP 338 Lapua

This has been gone over several times on the BA chassis. Hornady brass is a problem in the Savage 338 Lapua Magnum line. Lapua brass works flawless and from what I have read the Bertram brass(HSM) and the Privvi brass work OK as well. One member pulled the barrel and inspected the chamber and found tool chatter marks. He polished them out and after that he had no ejection issues from what I recall. Best bet is stay with Lapua brass. It has double the lifespan for reloading than the other brands as well..

+1 Lapua brass.....and for me the HSM brass works fairly well.
