Spencedaddy, I see you are new and I will give you some advice. We are not here to be "Google" for you. Learn to use the search function for this site or simply use Google and include Snipershide in the search. That will give you all of the basic info like "anyone tried an accutrigger on here". Also learn to think about your questions a little more and be independent and do "noob" research for yourself.
And yes we have tried the trigger. Some like it, some hate it. I think it is an improvement over the old trigger they had (as they come from the factory only, as the old style trigger can be adjusted quite nicely).

Ok sorry for the incovinience... what i was finding on google was one person blogging about using it once. I was hoping to find more people that have used it continuously and knows a little bit more about it. I was hearing that some people were having problems with the trigger being set too light and having missfires, is that a common thing?

From what I have read, the problems that are most common with the accutrigger arise from being adjusted to its lowest/lower pull weight. I have also heard of a problem with the Rifle basix trigger when adjusted to its lowest settings. Moral of the story... dont try to adjust savage triggers (factory or aftermarket with very few exceptions) down to 1 lb or less if you want to be sure of it not firing or malfunctioning at random.
I personally have never had a problem with them.

Every accutrigger I owned misfired before I ever attempted to adjust it. It is a hit/miss trigger, plain and simple. For me it has been mostly miss.
If you are thinking about buying one to try on a rifle you currently have then I say you are making a huge mistake, but I'd be glad to sell you one of the many that I have removed from my savages
now, if you are looking to buy a savage but are leery about the accutrigger don't let it deter you. The rest of the rifle will be fine and if you decide you don't like the accutrigger you can always replace it.
There are several nice aftermarket triggers available for savages - look around. The only one I recommend NOT getting is the riflebasix SAV-1; its overpriced junk.

midwayusa carries SSS triggers and so far everybody likes them. my accutrigger has never had an issue that i didnt cause. others have issues while some have had none. some dont like the blade. no one liked it on glocks either if you recall. buy a savage, you will like it. plenty of info for them on here

No problem Spence. FWIW, Remington triggers suck unless you have it professionally tuned or replace it all together so you'll most likely replace a Remington trigger if you get one too. I don't know anybody that I shoot with that has ever had a problem with their accutrigger but obviously some guys on this site have. Overall, Savages shoot so damn good out of the box that a little trigger shouldn't scare you away.

Allow the Savage guy say couple of words...Accutriggers are excellent compared to some on other mass produced rifles...But they are not for everyone. Accutriggers on rimfires are different from those on centerfires, even some of centerfire triggers are not the same. My .308 AT is set at 6oz but .243 won't go that low, it is set at 1.5lbs.

I think everything that can be talked about has been talked about on this site. Every time I click a freaking thread, I see a question, followed by "you should search"
Both search functions kinda suck, but the google one is much better. I wish you could sort the answers by date on the google one.

Just remember the "human" factor that occurs on all public forums, i.e. if someone doesn't like something you'll hear about it over and over. But if others find nothing wrong with something or never have any problems with a item you'll hear very little from them.
You'd do better to get a real feeling for your question by doing some real world research on it.

I bought a second Savage w/accutrigger after a great experince with my first (1000 rds +- never had a single issue). It was the first rifle I ever owned with a light trigger pull and the blade gave me more confidence while I worked on my technique, a more experienced shooter may find it annoying ... your mileage may vary.
As I have put more rounds through the second rifle I have had several cases where the blade has jammed preventing the rifle from firing. I can start to cycle the bolt and it will clear. This appears to be the same problem others experience and it is a combo of slamming the action closed with a low pull setting (and in my case a bit too much oil got in the trgger group). I have adjusted the pull,(2.5 lbs is fine for me) cleaned the trigger groupand no more trouble.
On the topic of the search function, yes this board has the worst search function of any board I have ever been on. Considering the high quality of the content it is really rather pathetic.

Just got our first Savage (.308), only one trip to the range so far with 60 down the tube.
Jury is still out (not enuf trigger time yet) as to whether it will stay.
First impression: I don't like it as much as the Timney on our 700. Just doesn't feel as crisp...with that said- as a factory trigger- probably the best out there, much better than the X-Mark we replaced on the Rem.

it takes some thinking, but the site search is decent after you figure out how to confine to certain sections and how to work the keywords its pretty easy to get what your after. abstract stuff is more of a challenge.

I'm not a huge fan of it, I replace of the accutriggers I have with the Rifle Basix trigger. It's a cheap (about $85 shipped) and worthwhile upgrade for any rifle. Some guys clip the spring,polish them up, etc, but I don't like the safety blade in the middle, just feels awkward to me (although I have shot some nice groups with them). I just prefer a more traditional trigger, and the RB trigger is easy to install and adjust. Just slap some blue loctite on the adjustment screws or they will slip and you will have a very unsafe trigger.
