I tried searching but cannot find my answer. For the people that use or have used the S & B short dot how do you like them. I am seriously considering one but not sure if its worth the coin. What are your impressions good, bad, worth it etc.. I know a decent bit about them from reading up on them but I am curious if people are actually really impressed with them. I may wait for the new 1-8 short dot. Thanks

Re: Schmidt and Bender?

Huge fan of the short dot!!

I have ran many scopes for CQB and for 3 gun shooting and I was a huge fan of the ACOG to be able to do everything. I finally swiitched to the Short dot this season and I am amazed of how solid this optic is.

Being able to run the red dot for close cqb type shooting and running the reticle for long shots out to 500-600 and having no issues and getting great results.

You will not be disappointed and I highly recommend it.

In addition I recommend you get the MGM switchview as well.

Re: Schmidt and Bender?

I love my Short Dot also. Works great on my POF .223. Will be getting a 1-8x when they come out in a month or so. It's a good option if you plan on using the rifle past about 600 yards or just want more magnification.

Blueish tint? I love my Short Dot and it most certainly doesn't have a blueish tint.

Whether or not they're "worth the coin" is a subjective matter. Short Dot's are generally considered the benchmark by which other low power variables are measured.

Some folks don't like the fact that the reticle is in the FFP, but I think it's perfect for the dot/reticle design.

Not to change forum gears on you too much, but there is a ton of information on the Brian Enos and M4Carbine.net forums on the Short Dot.

Re: Schmidt and Bender?

I agree with the gentlemen above, i have a short dot with the CQB reticle. I was going to buy the Nightforce 1.1-4 but now i am glad i spent the extra money and got the Short Dot, looking forward to checking out the 1-8 when it comes out.
