Found a good deal on one. I have a couple of questions that I hope some of you members can help me with.

Shooting will be done at 100, 200, 600 and 1,000 paper and steel.

How do you like the P4 Fine in a 1st plane scope at 100 yards on high magnification.

Are the cross hairs to large and cover up the target to much?

Anyone have this scope? Pros? Cons?

Clarity at 50x?

Thanks

Re: Schmidt Bender PMII 12-50x56 P4 Fine.

I have the 5-25x56 with the P4F reticle and I love the reticle. At 25x it is still pretty fine even at long ranges, but I shoot mostly on 8x even at 1000m matches. Only at certain competitions, where I need to distinguish among small targets I use the 25x at 100 meters, or in the role of a spotting scope to see hits up to 300 meters. But to shoot small dots at 100 meters on 25x is too much for me, the center can cover a small dot.

The lowest 12 power will give you trouble if there is a mirage. Also, IIRC, the scope has 0.05 MRAD clicks, for me this is too fine. But this is up to personal preferences, I guess.

Re: Schmidt Bender PMII 12-50x56 P4 Fine.

I have a S&B 12-50x56 FFP with the P4F reticle. I have no problems with the reticle from 12 to 50x, from 100 to 1,000 yards. Of all the optics I have owned it is my favorite.

I have a S&B 12-50 P4F FFP with .125MOA clicks. I use it to 500 meters for benchrest comps. 50x is no problem at all, usually use it around 40x. Last summer 3 of our matches were run at temps between 105-108 degrees. our 500m targets are 4" x 6" and I had no problem quartering them - or even finer holds if required. Awesome scope.

Re: Schmidt Bender PMII 12-50x56 P4 Fine.

i've used it for 600 yard fclass, it's nice, really helped when things heated up in the afternoon. at 50x, there was a little visible shake at times, but i really liked it over all, and you get a good range of adjustment considering the magnification range. the xring was very clear and visible the whole time.

I´d like to bring this up and hopefully hear from those more experienced with the scope; I have an option of buying a S&B 12-50 P4F FFP with .125MOA adjustments; I´d like to use it for shooting low power at shorter distances (100-300), mid power out to 1000 and use the top end really mostly for spotting.

My questions:

1. Do the reticle measurements as presented here: http://www.eurooptic.com/PDF/Schmidt-Bender-PMII-Reticle-P4Fine-MOA-5-25x56.pdf apply to the 12-50 as well? Is the reticle line as fine as claimed 0.1MOA? If not, how´s it looking against 1/4" dot at 100?

2. Using the internal adjustment range; am I loosing anything with a 20MOA rail, or will it zero with a 308 at 100 just fine and give me the promised 75MOA up from there? I´ll be needing a new mount for it anyway, so do I add any angle or leave it be?

Thanks, L.
