My choices are:
Sightron SIIISS 3.5-10x44LRIRMOA
Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50SFP
I know these two scopes are very new and the Sightron probably not even released yet but I've narrowed my choice down to these 2 based on feedback from people that have handled these scopes. The Sightron is my 1st choice but the 10x top-end makes me wonder.....
PLEASE HELP

Re: Scope for hunting and long range target shooting

I had the same two scopes on my short list. Decided to buy a Nightforce 3-15x50 NP-R1 instead. Didn't want to risk paying $850 - 1000 on a first year model that might have issues. After they are out for awhile and it looks like they don't have issues, I may look at them again.

Re: Scope for hunting and long range target shooting

Haven't handled the Sightron yet, but I do have time handling the PST. Sightron makes a good product, but I do like the PST. Turrets are nice and solid each click, great glass quality, same mil/mil or MOA/MOA as the new Sightrons. Might be splitting hairs with quality, but the 4-16 magnification might be the deciding factor. 4-16 has gives you more play than 3.5-10.

Re: Scope for hunting and long range target shooting

I think Sightron has made a mistake not having a 4.5-14 or 4-16 in their top line. Outstanding scopes though.

The NF is a known quantity for sure, but at almost 2x the price of a SFP PST, not sure it's worth it. The difference is that the NF will be easier to sell if you want something different. Not sure how much of a market there will be for used SFP Viper PST's for a while.

That would be my choice even with the price difference.
