I currently have a vortex cantilever mount on my NF scope for my 224 Valkyrie. What is the biggest difference between average priced mounts and high-end mounts such as Geissele or Sphur? I can understand that more concentric rings yield better equal contact with the scope tube, but is it that drastic to make a difference?

I paid $50 for the vortex mount; my only complaint is the 4 mounting screws to the picatinny rail are a pain to deal with, but I am not constantly removing the scope.

In general it's the design features, engineering, and construction reliability that "in theory" makes the difference. If your mount holds zero and gives you a good sight picture, rock on and save your money for more ammo. And while I've never made a Halo jump, I've pretty much used them all and can't say one brand stands head and shoulders above another. My Nightforce rings have been as dependable as my Spuhr and Bobro mounts, that's personal experience.............just saying.
