Hey Everyone,

I need help with some scope suggestions. I have a 260 rem that I plan on using for steel shooting and the occasional long range coyote. Range would be anywhere from 500-1000 yards. Scope weight isn’t a huge concern since I won’t be carrying it around very far. Are there any ffp scopes for under $2000 that you would recommend?

I’d prefer a moa/moa scope since I’m more familiar with that system but mil/mil would be fine as well. I’ve used the Vortex Pst ffp 4-16 and I’d like something with better glass and more magnification. From what I can gather I’ll most likely have to buy a used scope to stay under that budget.

I’m just looking for some suggestions and then I’ll track some scopes down and try them out in person. If there’s any info I left out just let me know. Thank you

Buy the best scope to meet your needs after you do a few months of research here. Spend as much as you can initially, so you won't be buying something else in 6 months. SWFA, Vortex and Leupold will most likely give you the best bang for bucks and are all solidly built and should stand up well to any punishment you can dish out!

Vortex Razor Gen I. Those can easily be had under your budget and in moa/moa. Watch the FS forum, there's been more than a few come up recently for great prices as folks upgrade to the Gen II or check with the vendors for some sales on old stock they're wanting to get out the door.
