Re: scope rings base set up advice sought

I'm still new to this also, but found I needed a base with 20MOA slope built in to get me to 1000. I went with a set of Badger Ordnance rings, and a Badger Ordnance 20MOA rail on my rifle along with a Vortex Viper PST 6-24 scope.

yeah, as stated above you'll need a 20moa rail to get you that extra height adjustment. And yes, Badger Ordinance have fantastic rings. I also like the Nightforce rings personally.

You can't go wrong with Badger Ordnance. I have their rings and bases on my rifles and they're excellent quality. Go with the 20 MOA base as previously mentioned, it will help get more elevation out of your scope.

Re: scope rings base set up advice sought

Is that the budget for the scope only, or for the base and rings as well? I am happy with my Burris XTR rings and they are half the price of Badger. Not knocking Badger at all, just giving a more budget friendly option. My only recommendation for a base is to get a 20 moa. I have a weaver and am not totally satisfied.
