I decided to get a Falcon 4.5x18x56 from the hide forums and egw base. Now how do I determine the height for the rings. They will be xtr burris rings I would like them to be correct the first time since I am going to get them from Midway. They go on a Rem. 700P.
sorry for a stupid question just wetting my feet on long range setups.
ps. what camo type is that on the Mcmillian stock on the the home page
thanks

Re: Scope RIngs

I too am looking for the answer to this question. I'm using and EGW base, burris Xtr rings, the only difference is I'm putting on a 4-14x44. Will medium height work?

Re: Scope RIngs

4 quarters is very close to 1/4 inch.
stack 4 quarters front and 4 quarters back on your rail.
tape them on with scotch tape.
Hold your scope where you plan on placing it.

A ring height of .850 presuming a 30mm tube will be 1/4 inch from the rail to the bottom of the scope.

If your scope hits add 2 more quarters. takes you to 3/8 or a .975 scope.

hope this helps
