Looking for suggestions for my new lr308. I have a Burris XTR on my LWRC .556 and love it. This one will be used from 50 to 600 yards. I need a reticle I can range with and would prefer mil/mil since that is what I'm running on my bolt gun. I know a price range would help but I'm open to whatever depending on what it offers. I will pay for quality. What seems to work best for all of you?

I run a USO on my .308 gas gun but think any of those listed would be great scopes for the gun.....you need to decide FFP or not and reticle you like and how much you want to spend.

S&B has a new 3-20x coming out supposedly in November last year, then January and now March. I am thinking that will be a very interesting scope for these platforms. Just tired of waiting for it to arrive in the US.
There is information on the scope on the german site with pictures and dimensions, but it is in german.

S&B has a new 3-20x coming out supposedly in November last year, then January and now March. I am thinking that will be a very interesting scope for these platforms. Just tired of waiting for it to arrive in the US.

GGmanning's list looks good I'd add the leupie M3 and Vortex PST to it.
FWIW mine has an IOR 3-18 on it and I love it, it's a bit hefty though and oftentimes I find myself using it at 10-12x anyways. I could do just fine with a 2-10x.

Get a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50 with zero stop and NP-R1 reticle. It will serve you well and offers a great resale value.

USO 1.8-10x37 TPAL......or ERGO and all USOs are FFP. The ior and SS are FFP but no parallax adjustment.

I would recommend Nightforce, Burris XTR, Weaver Tactical ( new model) and Leupold Mk 4 in that order depending on $$$$

If you are shooting for small groups on paper I would go with more magnification. If you are thinking more like shooting steel or IPSC targets at these ranges like a DMR application I would stay away from any side focus or parallax adjustment as it just slows you down and is another variable to accidentally leave in the wrong position. I use the SWFA SS 3-9X42 on a M1a NM and LMT MWS and can stay sub moa out to 600 yards with no problems. These scopes are a great value and there is nothing that sells for less than twice their price that would tempt me to switch.

Another vote for Nightforce. I have a NF 3.5-15x50 on my LR260. The scope is an excellent package for the price. BTW, I started with the SS 10x42 and 20x42. They worked great for the affordable price ranged, but obviously no comparison to the NF.
