I have lately acquired a PWS Summit that I will use exclusively in a suppresed subsonic role in the field.

I'd like to be able to zero at 50 yards with drops subtended thereafter out to 200 with the stumpy little 40 grain 22LR standard velocity bullet in mind.

Is there such a beast? I suppose I could get knobs with presets on for the drops but I kind of like being able to just hold over on the reticle.

No such animal. Too many variables for a BDC to accurately cover.

Stick with your SS mildot (it's a reliable scope that is very capable with a lot of elevation adjustment) or get a christmas tree FFP reticle of some flavor. BDC reticles should have died off ages ago, but some suckers still buy them for whatever reason.

I have hawke vantage 4-16x50 with a subsonic bdc reticle. Loved it and started my son on it until he was ready to learn holdover and dialing. Really good inexpensive and useful scopes.

You’re absolutely right. I never understood why they sold scopes like that and mislead customers to think a bdc really works and was the solution to their problem.
