SEALS Need Fixing????

Its a Muslim country and against regulations. Have you ever served over there? Both alcohol and nudey magazines are an NJP at least. I can't imagine that's changed since I was in many moons ago...
The sole exception was The Red Lion in Dubai. When I served it was the only bar in the Dar Islam.

I think I was served alcohol by MWR in the Navy every single 4th of July EXCEPT those when in a Muslim country.
First Gulf war, the brits brought in thousands of gallons of very fine Scottish distillate in shampoo bottles. Was odd to see them sitting in front of their tents sipping from a bottle of Prell... but there you go!

Stormin Norman was a ladies temperance activist compared to Gen de la Billiere, who was quite happy to keep his boys supplied. There was a good trading system set up for cots and mre’s which were paid for in shampoo, too. Legend suggests.

On another note... if the rape allegations are true... that is pretty beyond the pale for a professional warrior. From some half-wit urban craphole-raised supply clerk on Okinawa or some place... not acceptable but understandable how it could happen. Shitbirds show up everywhere. But that kind of stuff should never happen in tier one units. And if he did it, his buddies, as a team, should have drummed him out of the unit, not clammed up.

Would you want a rapist watching your six or covering you in a funnel?

I observe things now and I think of things than.

Now everything is short term.

Than we thought long term.

Case in point Egypt.

Egypt was going to shit fast under Morsi.

A bunch of guys that likely when they were young and working with, being instructed by, in country SF cadre as well as participating in "Bright Stars" and other military training in conjunction with the US, decided Morsi had to go. These guys attended schools in the US getting exposed to our life and Constitution.

Al-Sisi may have his issues but his ideas of secularism and understanding that a desert wasteland depends on the ability of people with money to visit the Pyramids is much better than the team that wants to burn Coptic Churches.

This and those strategic missions should be the Spec Op mission.

We are twenty to thirty years behind in that type of "education".

The future does not bode well as any voids in leadership will not be filled by "western" educated leaders.
