Search Box AFU???

OK, I know this isn't only happening to me. Type in 45 ACP in the search box and see what all comes up in teh results. A plethora of OT BS that ranges from 308 to Shankster's hefties and not one thread on reloading or loading the 45 ACP. I am certain this happens for any other search as well.
What gives?

Reasons I don't use the forum software search engine...it is ALWAYS AFU. Click the link in my sig line and give the Hide Google engine a try and see if it returns better results for you.

Well maybe you guys are expecting too much... because I just typed in 45ACP as you stated and got this...

So tell me what are you looking for... you realize as you bear down it will begin to pull anything with 45 or ACP in it... but on the first page, I see no issue.

maybe you all need to learn to actually conduct a search.

yes, before I had the default MYSQL search, which would not search anything with 3 letters or numbers or less, so a search for 308 would not work. However I have since changed it to a text based search which will actually conduct a search of things like 45ACP... but if you space it, it will search for anything with 45 ...

Get a clue because I bet you there is nothing I can't find on here with the search as provided. I havent' once needed to use Google since I have changed the search parameters. Understanding i do prune topics so it will not always go back very far...

45 (Space) ACP... it is searching two separate things...

If you want to search something like that, you have to use quotes so nothing gets between 45 and ACP or just put 45ACP together, which in some cases will limit your search.

45 _ ACP Is actually looking for 2 different things.

Quotes are your friend in this case... or string it together. you can probably do .45, although I don't know if it will recognize a period, but you can try.

Switch, if you are looking for something you've seen before it helps to use the advanced search. Scroll down and click on the reloading section, type 45acp in the search area, and most importantly change the date search from "newer than 1 week" to "newer than 1 year" and it will search more precisely. I always wondered if when just using the search box if it only searches with in the last week as a preset but I don't think it does.

Hahahahaa, baskin robbins...

Basically I was looking for a solid performing pair of 45 loads. One for HD, the other for plinking with a 230fmj and didn't want to ask an obviously over rehashed question with a new topic. I'll try the 45acp and see what I can find, no spaces and quotes as well. Thanks for the hint LL
