I'm starting to think the only way to defeat bad policy is to illustrate how bad the policy is. It might be a good lesson if every citizen went on food stamps just to collapse the whole program. There's no comprimising in policy when those you debate are lying over policy. There's no law-making with law-breakers!

That's kinda been my thinking all along, and my sort of tongue in cheek point in my above post. It seems like the only way these people will figure out that these policies/ideas suck is to play along and collapse them from the inside.
