I have three bolt guns: 6.5CM (Stiller/Bartlein/Jewell), .223 (Tikka T3X Varmint), and .22 (Vudoo). The Stiller and Vudoo are each in their own MPA BA Comp chassis, the Tikka is in an MDT LSS-XL with MDT Skeleton buttstock. I'm toying with the idea of putting together a .223 on an M700-footprint action in an MPA BA Comp chassis.

Of course, these MPA chassis are not cheap. So - does anyone here have experience with sharing one chassis across multiple barreled actions? If I share a chassis, the sale of a couple of lesser-used toys will pretty much pay for the new action/barrel/trigger.

Conceptually, this sharing thing sounds simple and "doable." But in reality I have some concern about constantly removing/tightening the receiver screws and question whether POI will be changed, however minimally, with each switch.

If anyone is actually sharing one chassis across multiple barreled actions, I'd appreciate your thoughts re pros & cons. In absence of reports of favorable experience, I'll keep the superbly accurate Tikka despite its feeling rather different that its safe-mates.

Try it at the range. Next time you go, shoot a group, remove BA from chassis, then reinstall. See if POI changes.

Theoretically the lug lock on the MPA should help with the action having to “settle in”.
