Currently use basic ground mat, no pockets, straps, rubber pads. Just basic roll up with padding.

Need to look at other options and wondering what’s useful or bs. One item recommended is a strap to load the bipod against, very few mats offer this. Also would prefer not a 12# weight. My old canvas mil-issue mat doesnt have this but sounds useful.

Recommendations?

I use a cross Tac mat. Doesn’t have the straps but I find that more of a gimmick tan useful but it does have like a ledge you push against which I find is easier and faster

For a portable mat I use this

I see those straps as more of a gimmick than anything also. You shouldn't need a strap to properly load the bipod, you're not putting that much force on it to need a strap. I prefer minimalist solutions that I can roll up and either shove down in my pack or throw down in one of the external bottle pockets. I've been running a TAB Gear mat for a long time now and it does everything I need it to do. It has padding in the right spots up front, keeps the mud off of me for the most part, and rolls up pretty compact.

I like the Tab Gear Pollock for most instances. Packs small. I ended up getting a Cole-Tac mat less the padding. I like what they have going on with the straps. If I bought a third it would be the Crosstac.
