I was curious about doing an optimal charge weight test with a gas gun. Given the theoretical issues with 1st and last rounds from a magazine, is it best to single load bullets in this type of scenario?

Just curious-

First round shouldn't be any different but for the last round you could always either load one extra hand load or use a factory round to fire at a different target from your OCW one.

+1 a dummy or live, either or. The intent is so that the bolt can go home and lock the same way it had on the 4 subsequent shots.

I would not suggest loading the mag with, say, all the rounds you will use in one pass on the OCW targets. You want some barrel cooling in between shots and it would seem that you wouldn't want to have the nest round "cooking" in the chamber.
