Only a couple of years into reloading and shooting for accuracy but I feel I need a better front and rear rest. I am shooting off a Cadwell Tack Driver and a gun case. I would like to buy a decent rest that I could stick with for a while.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Shooting Rest

Are you shooting mostly from a bench, prone or something else?

and

Not that it matters too much, but what rifle, distance, and what type of shooting are you doing? Punching holes in paper? Steel? etc....

A good bipod - i.e. Atlas or Harris just to name a couple would be a good option.

If all you are doing is bench shooting then a good bench style rest would be a better option over the bipod.

Kind of like a computer around here, Put shit information in and get shit information out!

Re: Shooting Rest

Well, if you limit yourself to the bench only the Caldwell Handy Rest, Rock, Rock Jr. or something along those lines may work for you. Along with some kind of rear support as stated above.

I mention Caldwell products because you stated you already use some. There are many other brands out there.

Re: Shooting Rest

I will look into the bipods that you mentioned Sniper. I look to branch out off of the bench eventually. I have seen some of the front rest that look to be very well designed. Of the other brands that you mentioned besides Caldwell is there a standout under 400 dollars.

Re: Shooting Rest

Of the brands I mentioned - Well Atlas or Harris !

If I had the $ today I would own an Atlas for sure. But, alas my $ is tied up elsewhere and the Harris has served me well for many years. Atlas is on my list of "wants" but not "needs" yet.

If you really intend to "branch out" then maybe you should just get the Atlas and start working with it!

I hope you can get the information you need!
