So I'm in the final building process for a form1 suppressor for my .243. The gun is in a KRG bravo chassis and I'm running the stock Howa sporter 22" barrel, 1-10 twist. Gonna have GAP do all of the work to make the suppressor fit.
Anyway, I'm thinking of shortening the barrel to 20" or 18", leaning towards the latter. I'm mainly shooting Hornady 75 Superformance and will be reloading these and the 87gr as well. Anyone do this before and what was your experience with performance loss in the lighter pills? Anyone have loads to share out of a barrel this size?

I’ve got a 243 that I just had cut down from 22” to 18”. I haven’t had a chance to do much load development with it yet but appears that it will be a little more difficult than it was with the 22” barrel. Just about everything I feed it in the 22” configuration shot sub MOA andquite a few shot sub .5 MOA. I’ve tried a few different loads so far and haven’t really found anything to get excited about. It is actually my sons rifle and we use the 87g Hornady bullets. I will be trying H4350 this week and I will see what kind of velocities and accuracy I get.
