Shouldr bump, neck size, trim length - what order?

Re: Shouldr bump, neck size, trim length - what order?

In my procedure, I::

Size the bodys
Size the necks from 0.3445 to 0.338
Trim cases to length
Size the necks from 0.338 to 0.332

I trim with a Lee cutter and mandrel, and the mandrel fits so much easier at 0.338 than at 0.332.

Of course, sizing the neck an additional .004" as Mitch does will not change length much, if at all.
Still, I would not do an inside chamfer until all neck sizing is complete.

I use a Giraud so I do it last.

I have at least 4. None covered exactly this question.

Tried it, worked great.

Thanks for the help!

Tim,
There is a real good thread about this at the beginning of this forum, titled: Hand loading for long range,1 brass prep by Tresmon. The comments in the thread touch on your question.

I read that thread, and unless it's been updated since I did, the author actually doesn't specifically answer this question. In every other respect, that thread is outstanding.
