Might trade the coat in for the one with the cape and double wool sleeves but thinking that may be too warm for regular wear. Like the dark blue on this one.

and who doesnt want a Fudd hat from the kids.

I have a core group of Filson. Great natural fabrics and high quality. The coat you mention is the double Mackinaw wool cruiser. I have one and it is the real deal for NE weather. When the temps go below 40, it is pretty nice. I don't find it too hot. Runs true to size.

Yep I have the "single" Mackinaw. was thinking the double may be the way to go especially when things get wet and raw. Intent is this would be worn over the Mackinaw bibs so my core will have a layer of 24 oz wool under it in addition to what ever wool sweater is part of the layer system.

It will work super well.

For really wet and snowy weather, I use the tin cloth packer coat. I also add the wool liner when it is cold.
