Sig Kilo 1600?

Don't need the BDX version.
Guessing this one would likely rage deer and coyotes out to 800, which would be more than enough.
Guessing it would range metal targets to 1200, which would be more than enough.
I'm in middle Tennessee, so shooting and hunting opportunities beyond 400 yards are scarce.
It would also do double duty in my golf bag. Ranging a spot on the green or fairway out to 400 would again be more than enough.
Anybody fooled with one?
Are my expectations pretty "real world"?
Any feedback on durability/longevity?
Any guesses on the minimum range (think bowhunting)?

It seems to be the best "fit" for me in the $250 price range and I've got a little birthday money burning a hole in my pocket. This will be my first rangefinder. I've messed with a few belonging to friends, but 500 yards (on large, reflective targets) was about their limit.

Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated.

I had a sig rangefinder for a while, and it was pretty nice. Your expectations are reasonable enough, but it might struggle in certain conditions with the deer and coyotes at 800. Mine seemed to lose range when it was cold and just gradually over time. I wouldn't worry about minimum range on any modern lrf as it will be less than what you would need even for bowhunting. Overall, that isn't a bad option for your expectations. For what its worth, vortex does have better warranties than sig but my sigs never really had trouble in the five years I had them.

Did you end up getting the Kilo 1600? I'm looking at it for many of the same reasons and there is just not much information on it.

I did get a 1600.
I like it so far. Ranging tress and whatnot while hunting out to 400 yards was easy. I do seem to "argue" with it a bit when ranging, say, a flag on a green at 200 yards or, even more so, 2' steel target at 1000 yards, you have to be VERY still, then I'll take multiple reads to be sure, but that's likely any rangefinder (this is my first). I've not taken it past 1,000.
Over all, I do like it.
One thing I will add, Vortex has their Ranger 1800 model for another $100, I'm not sure how it stacks up against the Sig 1600, but from what I can tell, Vortex DOES apply their lifetime warranty to Rangefinders, where Sig does NOT (don't remember the specific details, but it was like 1,3, or 5 years). If the Sig ever pukes, I'll take a closer look at it.

I have had three kilos and was a big fan. But all three gave me trouble and my current 2200 has been failing while hunting. Sig’s support the one time I used it, was ludicrous. They tested my malfunction unit by ranging a tree. “Works fine” . Real technicians there .......These units were all well cared for and never dropped ( though they should be built to take a drop). My next one will likely be a Vortex.

I’m 57 and sadly unless you plan on kicking soon, we are not even close to our last electronics over $100. As for sig year their warranty is confusing but then again a warranty is only as good as the company standing behind it. When someone sends in a range finder with issues and their answer is to range a tree, well something is very wrong.

I had a Vortex Razor and was suddenly getting bad groups. I was not even convinced it was the scope but I called to see if there were some things I could check myself. Even though I felt it probably was not the scope they insisted on looking it over for me. They even sent a shipping label. The turnaround was a couple days, no issues with the scope. It came back with targets they had shot groups on with notes regarding testing and results. I had no question regarding their findings.
