Are the Sig Mastershop pistols worth the $3500 that they say they are? I am really sweating an X5 Black and White right now. If possible I would really like to hear from members that have one or have shot one. I know that I could go the STI route as well as Wilson Combat, Ed Brown or Les Baer. But, I have always been a Sig man and just really love the looks of the X5 Black and White. I also really like the features of the X5 with the adj. trigger and what not. Thx for any help fellas.

I have not owned any of the extreme high end Sigs, but have owned an X5 Tactical and X5 all around. Both were the great. Fit and finish were beautiful, and the accuracy is phenomenal. Well worth the money, especially if you are an accuracy fanatic. Id only imagine that the mastershop guns are just as good.
Some of the Mastershop pistols are a whole lot of "flash" and polish and various frilly bullshit like unusual anodizing/coating colors, grips, etc. (to each their own I suppose), BUT...all are hand-built, hand-fitted, highly accurate and utterly reliable pistols. I owned a P220 X6 L1 for about three months before selling it and it was easily one of the most accurate .45acp handguns I have ever owned. I cannot imagine anyone who loves Sigs and appreciates their form/function would ever have anything but the very highest regard for the Mastershop series guns or regret purchasing one (aside from perhaps the pricetag). I have never seen a B&W first hand, but they are certainly one of the best looking Mastershop pistols around in my opinion based on the photos I've seen (and Sig is offering them in both the X5 and X6 varieties now, so you can decide which bbl best suits your wants/needs). The only thing that gives me pause on any of the Mastershop guns is their pricetags, which for some models, is really getting close to the ridiculous side. The last B&W I saw for sale was nearly $3300. That is a LOT of coin for a Sig regardless of its features/fit/finish/etc.
All of that said, if you like Sigs, and the pricetag of the X5 B&W does not upset you or offend your idea of value/worth for a pistol, then I wouldn't hesitate in the least to say "Have at it!"

I don't know if those are the same gunsmiths-but Sig did my trigger job and dao conversion on a Sig 229 and it was a superior carry/duty gun. I regularly cleaned the quarterly quals at my offices-the best dao trigger I EVER had on any gun. The Sig guys do great work, have a good turnaround time, and not badly priced. Are these expensive Custom/Master guns built in Germany or something? I don't know why they'd be that much more.
