I'm bummed. I have a new SIG P220 equinox than when shooting, it will not reset the hammer back in single action for the next chambered round.
I have tried a few different factory SIG mags, several types of ammo, 230gr 280gr defense, ball, jacketed Ranger SXT and I get the same results. About every second or third round will not kick the hammer back into the locked "single action" position. The spring is the factory unit that is a yellow color on one end.

Any ideas ?

I am a Sig Sauer armorer and FFL/SOT holder. Sounds like your ammo is a little light in the loafers or your recoil spring is a little overweight.

Since you seem to be shooting good ammo, you probably need to have someone to take a look at your gun. I would recommend than since its a new gun, that you contact Sig Sauer directly so you can have it fixed free of charge.

If they don't get you taken care of, send me a pm. I'm better at fixing Sigs than they are anyway

OK,

Here are your answers.

Gus in nearly new. Lightly dusted with Rem Oil.

When firing (any factory ammo) the hammer will follow the slide back into the double action position and not cocked position nearly every other round count.

when unloaded, mag out and dry fired, the hammer will follow the slide back to the frame (into the double action).

ONLY when the trigger is released you can hear the reset and then can manually cock the hammer back into single action.

I was told to loosen the grip screws and try same exercise, but have the same results.

The Equinox is a beautiful pistol.
I just scored a new never fired 1994 P220.
The one I had years ago never ever jammed.
I remember a buddy had a Para and we both ran about
120 rounds thru at one time. The Para jammed on shot 99.
The Sig was flawless. Thats certainly no knock on Para because
it was an incredibly good pistol.
