SIG Rattler 300 blackout suppressor recommendations

I'm looking for a suppressor for a Sig Rattler 5.5 length. I was going to get a trash panda but it's a little long in the tooth, thought there might be some better options. I'm not a big suppressor guy but I do ( like most) want the quietest & shortest available.
During my dive, I see where Cat is going to have a CAT/Rat available in 25 but not sure I want to wait for that.
My short list is CAT OBD , HUXWRX 762 TI, Velos 762, Other options like the CGS Hyperion are quieter but longer than I'd like.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

High flow rate cans like the otherwise superb HUXWRX Flow 762 Ti don't do well with subsonics.

Another thing to consider besides length is weight of can plus muzzle device.

Read up on Pew Science test results.

You'll like the CGS Hyperion in spite of the length. Direct thread and only 15.5 ounces. Quieter than even the SF SOCOM 300 SPS, plus several ounces lighter.

But, if the length is a game changer, the Hyperion K is 5 ounces lighter and over 3" shorter. Not as quiet, but still decent.

so what’s the opinion of the best can with enough back pressure ? Maybe I stick with a trash panda. Seems like all the flow cans won’t create enough back pressure to run reliable.
Online sales guys want to sell me what they have in stock. This is the reason for this post.

Trash panda seems good man, other than that- anything max quiet and light. Thunderbeast, etc

I don’t have a Rattler, but I have a 6” bufferless .300blk with a LAW ARIC. This SRBS is low backpressure but had enough to cycle subs in my setup. Also inconel with no barrel length restrictions, and did well with supers too.

REALLY?! Please explain what you mean by better. Quieter? Better tone? Were you shooting without ear pro?
I thought I did. I own 2 762 Velos LBP ( bought before I discovered CAT, I also own a Ventum 762) as well as 1 ODB and 2 AlleyCat 762s. They are quieter than the Velos, the AC762 about the same as the ODB and both have a softer recoil pulse ( softer but longer duration, the AC762 much more so than the ODB).
Of course all opinions expressed here are those of unpaid, highly untrained mouth breathers. Everyone is free to disagree . Or check the pew data for the LBP and scroll down to the ODB.

Crap, you did. I missed it. My apologies. It’s not often good direct comparisons come along and I completely missed it. Man I struggled between the Velos and the ODB for months. Ended up buying 2 Velos 762. That’s a little disappointing to hear. Now I’m really wanting to try the OBD on 300BLK. I was beyond happy with suppression and “recoil” if you could even call it that. The rifle didn’t move. Despite shooting for groups I was able to shoot with what seemed like no correction. Subs didn’t feel like it was actually firing a bullet. The Velos is a bit of a tank and I’ve got an 18650 Modlite and IRIS 3 on the end of my rifle so I guess that’s to be expected. I should’ve gone with an ODB and a Velos and given my least favorite to my girl.

Yeah but they are pretty decent, the are better than most of the competitors. I would not kick yourself on this one, CAT is still a relatively unknown vs a fairly well established brand. I still shoot the Velos from time to time depending on what’s going on ( others need cleaning ect. Enjoy what you have, learn from what you try and when you need another you will have more choices and new ones so we will all be confused together!

On my 300blk uppers with subs , I have shot a Nomad 30, Nomad XC TiL, the OBD and the Ventum 762.

Going off of "I think I recall...," the Nomad 30 with this high back pressure design was the quietest. And also the gassiest.

The Ventum was loudest, but not *loud*, just louder.

The Nomad XC maaay have been a bit more quiet than the OBD, but maybe not. And it's longer.

The OBD is great

The issue for me is that cycling bolt is loud enough to make no ear pro shooting just enough unpleasant after a few rounds that I prefer to have something in/ on my ears.

Yeah there is a trade off on suppression. A high back pressure can will be quieter but will also be gassy. A low back pressure can will be less quiet but also less gassy.. I dislike gassy to my face and enjoy a “cleaner” action. I always wear ear protection (now, maybe not so much when I was younger) to protect what’s left of my hearing because damage builds up slowly and you may not know it is happening until it’s gone.

Agreed! Super quiet is great, but I prefer a more "balanced performance" product.

Except my bolt 300 blk and my .22 AR... those are absolute hoots to shoot sans ear pro
