Ok, so obviously the short action M5 differs from the L/A and 338LM M5, but what is the difference between the L/A and 338LM versions?
Internal magazine OAL is identical between the two, so I assume the magazine length is identical. Is it only the width in the M5 magazine hole which is wider, hence takes the wider 338LM mag's.
So, next question.. will the 338LM M5 take and still work with a 300WM AI magazine? Length the same, just maybe a little sloppy fit.
I am doing another 300WSM build, and after seeing a 7mmWSM in the classifieds using the Surgeon XL DBM, and feeding great from the 338LM magazine.. makes it a great option. I just guess I'd like to know if at a later date if I wanted to go to a long cased magnum I could still use the 338LM badger M5.. or since same stock inlet, just replace the whole M5 DBM..
