Simple question. Vortex pst 6-24x50 or Bushnell 6-24x50 elite tactical. I am putting this on a 280 AI. It is a heavy barrel (M24 Ported) Tooter Meredith Custom build. Long distance and Long range deer hunting. This question has probably been asked before. Sorry and thanks in advance.

Not so simple answer: I would pick neither of the two. Both are somewhat elevation challenged with only 65 MOA and 70 MOA of total elevation available. My Minimum for real LR use would be 22 mils (80 MOA). Even then 90 moa plus would be better. Burris new XTR II's should be given a look, even the 5-25 has a reported 90 MOA available. SWFA 5-20 is also a good choice, as is Bushnell's HDMR and ERS line.

They may cost a bit more, than the two you've chosen but the increases in total elevation are a price worth paying.....and worth far more than a modest increase of zoom X at the top end... IMHO and YMMV of course.
