Anyone know the size of a adult whitetail buck. Was thinking of taking the BDC off and putting a Mil-dot on. I could mildot instead of getting the RF out. Would save time.

I know I should have just measured the last one I shot or milled one then got the RF out and compared.

Any advice?

I have worked on that for years. It varies a great deal, depending on size of deer, time of year for coat and weight etc. I have also spend days milling them for size and then LRF to get actual range.
In Eastern Kansas, it is about like this.
Mature large summer doe. 15-17" Weight 180-220#
2 year old buck is about the same. 180-220#
4 year old buck in summer trim is 17-19" 200-275#
A really big buck in summer early fall can go 19-22" Weight can be 240-320#
After the rut, weight of a big buck can drop 30% or even more.
That is just what I have seen and I have weighed many, many deer. These are wild free ranging deer, but on very well managed property. Most will run smaller on average land and feed.
