I have a FN SPR. Been training with it to get it ready for some use. One issue I have noticed is the sling and the swivel is giving me a little "creek" when walking, climbing with the rifle.

Any suggestions? It's a TIS sling I if I recall. I think it might be

Re: Sling creek

I am thinking the creek is in the mount / stock. If WD40 comes in contact with the bedding, will it destroy it?

HA! Figured it out. I have been humping this rifle to get used to the weight. Miles and miles. Well....The Talon sling mounts have a quick release button. One of the mounts had it's "button" become depressed. The weight on the rifle and the scope with covers etc bent the post the sling uses.

This was causing the "creek". Now it know to look for it when I am checking my gear. Can't buy experience. No matter how small!

Mounted the talon fixture in a vice and tapped it back to it's correct position.

Of note, there was never a chance the sling was going to come off the rifle or hard-point. I mean maybe if I was hanging off a cliff with it, but the lesson is the Talon sling mount actually worked.

And I mean for miles and miles. Hahahaha!

I'm a tool.

Re: Sling creek

Creek is a small flowing stream of water, creak is a squeaking noise.

Glad you figured it out. I have a pair of Danners that creak so much I cant stand to wear them (unless Im in a creek)
