Re: Sling for my shotgun

What are you using it for?

HD- Simple is better 2 point Vtac, etc.

Three Gun-Work; Something comfortable to carry it with, because you may be carrying it a while.

I have been thinking of a Royal arms breacher sling for my HD shotgun. Simple round bungee cord, harder to tangle and I dont plan on carrying it for a prolonged period.

Work gun- I would go with an adjustable 2 point, Vickers, Vtac etc.

What you are going to use it for will make a HUGE difference in what kind of sling will be useful.

A single point is great for CQB work. It sucks for anything where you need your hands free.

For basic street patrol work I have a regular old two point sling on my 870. It doesn't knock me in the balls when I sling it, and it is more secure if I have to go hands on for cuffing, searching, etc.

For a home defense I would probably shy away from a sling. You won't have a secondary weapon to draw you won't be cuffing or searching and you probably have not been trained in what techniques to use when you find someone on top of you choking your life out with your own sling.
