I picked up a used 700 Varmint which didn't have the sling swivel studs. Would anybody have two lying about I could buy or do you know where I could locate them?

I certainly appreciate it.

I just mounted up the NF scope to see how the barrel shoots. Two changes already, I need to switch the NF steels which are medium for lows(had to do the old duct tape and cardboard). Will sell the scope(NPR-1) and get another MLR/mil so I have consistency. What's up in the air? stock and barrel length, at 26 now. Thinking on the Manners mini chassis/T3 if I do a short barrel(18) or keep what I have or a AICS if going long.

I had to build up the cheek weld with the cardboard strips and duct tape since I don't have the Eagle stock pack right now and the rings are mediums, I need low ones. Since the sling studs are missing, I need two.

Now if you have nothing else better to do at least leave my thread alone.

Go to your local gun shop, they should have some Uncle Mikes packs for $5-6? I have a chit load but it will cost more to drive to the PO and mail then what they are worth locally.

Nothing local, guess I'll look online with Brownell's and include them in the next order.

Thanks though.

Well you can either order 2 set of them or 12 #080-769-161AD(7/8" long) for $9.42 and cutoff if need be. Shorter are available just a different Part #. If you order the previously mentioned kit for $5 and change you will get the escutcheon nut/domed nut in the forend if needed and white spacer washers. If you order bulk you will have to buy stud, nut, washers all in bulk!!!

Can't help you much more than this!!

Re: Sling swivel studs for 700, anybody have two?

If its an HS Precision stock those studs wont work. Brownells shows them as being 10x32 and HS Precision stocks use an 10x24 thread.
Give HS Precision a call and tell them what you wont and they will send them.

Good luck.

Great, hope that helps out. I get several in the shop every year that people try to put the wrong ones in. sometimes they can be saved...
