Bought a book off a Sioux while at Crazy Horse monument. This Sioux was also a USMC fighter pilot over Vietnam.
Interesting concept in his book and history I wasnt aware of is that the Sioux were originally coastal Carolina Indians.
They moved their way west as the English settled in the east.
He considered it a clash of cultures.
The stronger culture displaced the weaker.
The Sioux didnt consider themselves weaker they just felt "lets get away from these smelly English fucks with their disease" and moved west.
The cultures they displaced they did consider the Darwinism of the stronger displacing the weaker and they fought and honed their fighting skills doing it.
By the time the Sioux were backed up against a mountain range in the west they were the baddest ass motherfuckers on the back of a horse that would yield a trade rifle and a bow.
But still the writer acknowledged it was a clash of cultures and the stronger in the end won.
The writer catches shit in his community I believe for this as well as some other stuff I think he had been outspoken about....Ed Mcgaa. He is proud of the fact sure the stronger culture got territory but they were never defeated as evidenced by their strong presence today. Pocumtucs cant say same.
Damn just looked him up looks like he died last year - Semper Fi.
