Small brass, like little specks in the chamber

Cleaning up after my last course. I’ve got small, fine dust like shavings of brass in my chamber. Some blew out with air. Others are hanging on even after using a bolt chamber cleaning tool.

Normal?

Remington 700 LTR, approaching 1300 rounds, primarily suppressed and with federal gold medal match factory loads.

Pretty normal with new brass I’ve found, all the sharp little corners get bent off etc when chambering and extracting and after a few firings they are all rounded and smooth and you stop seeing em.

But do they clean up for you? In the outside of the chamber?

I guess so but I never really pay attention to that part of the chamber. I just see it all on the feed ramps etc.

That's actually not the chamber. It's the bolt nose recess.
The reason it's there is what Spife pointed out, plus the shitty texture/matte finish of the current crop of Rem 700s.
The bolt face gets it too, but it's much easier to remove.

It won't hurt anything.

The lugs aren’t brass.
