How come I never see any steel targets smaller than 6"? I have a match coming up where you have 15 shots to clear 10 3" square targets at 425 yards. I've been looking around trying to find some small steel targets to buy or find somone thats built some to get ideas from to build my own. Is there somthing I'm missing, is there some reason you never see 2" or 3" steel targets? I wondered about them being less weight and attaching them might be a problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I can only shoot 300 yards at my house so I was going to practice shooting 2" steel squares at 300 to try and simulate 3" squares at 425. Below is a link with the match info.

Re: Small steel targets ???

Check out Impulse targets. I have alot of his targets at my range. I have 2 seperate KYL racks built by him that each have 8"7"6"5"4"3"2" targets and they work really well.

He is a hide vendor screen name Impulse.

Re: Small steel targets ???

I have a good design for the smaller targets )2.5" and bigger).See the second pic down (the hanging tiny men)in this post http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthre...314#Post2492314
I weld them to a peice of 2"x1/4" flat bar and add gussets. It's a good design that has been well tested at my local matches. I use this design to make my steel KYL targets.
