It worked great for the guys who brought one and its my plan to make one or two for this year's clinic.
@CMP70306 - looks like 2 x 10, 2 x 8, 2 x 6, and 2 x 4 stacked up with a piece of 1 by on the top. Right?
- Show up with an open mind.
- No one cares about your rifle and ammunition. If you know how your stick, optics and cartridge perform at various distances, you are going to do well.
- I would bring between 200-250 rounds of ammo you know works accurately in your stick and that you have DOPE for. Don't bring multiple types.
- Read everything to do with Weaponized Math on this site and commit it to memory. Ask questions if you don't understand it.
- You don't need to worry about humping a shit ton of equipment. Pack it all in whatever you want. Your car will be a few steps from where we shoot.
- Make sure your bipod has long legs as this range is uphill. I would bring a a couple of hunks of 2x10 to put under the bipod legs.
- You should have spare everything. You seem to have all the tools but you also need spare screws and any other thing to do with your stick and optic mount. Sometimes a screw gets stripped when you have to get your scope checked. Ask me how I know
- Bring a notepad and pens
- You don't need a tripod. We have many to share
- You can bring a Kestrel if you have one but you don't need to buy one as many of us have them.
- Cooler so you can buy lunch, drinks and ice. There is nothing around the place for food and we usually get that prepped the night before. Otherwise no lunch for you if that is important to you.
- Leave your liver at home

That would be the cleanest way but I had a bunch of left over Trex decking from building a dock so I just staggered them, braced the back and put a lip on the top.

I actually eat more fish than meat. The salmon there is pretty goodEnough red meat and booze to kill a man.
I actually found a really end and hotel on the other side of the highway and I may actually stay there. Apparently they actually have really good food too…

That’s what I’m thinking… while it may not be unbelievably unbelievable… I doubt it sucks. (I’ve stayed at some crazy places… buuut… why not.)
Their normal prices are a bit much for that area. I'm staying there with my wife and son when we visit Penn State. She got us a deal so it is only ~$250 per night for a large King room. I'll let you know what I think as we are eating there on one night as well. Restaurant is averaging $40 for an entree and $15-25 for an appetizer. Cocktails are are also NYC prices. I would estimate my cost would be $150 per night for food and drink. No way I would spend that for myself.
Also seems a bit too "polished" for a bunch of guys that spent the day shooting. There is a dress code for dinner. I'm sure there is an expletive code as well. My wife said they are a bit uppity.
I would love to see their faces when you bring in the rifles as well

Minimum age of 18, sorry. The student must be responsible and accountable for his/her own actions and be old enough to own the rifle he/she trains with.

I actually saw an Origin this weekend and I was pretty impressed. I would give that a look
I spoke with the folks at Seekins, and it turns out the havoc is not a Remington 700 compatible action…. So you can’t use it in any chassis system aside from their own.

We are currently busy as hell here in Alaska. Had 26 students in June and finishing up Friday at 44 students for July.
Wish we could expand Mifflin but they only allow us to operate mid-week there.
Currently sitting at “The Flying Squirrel” bakery near Talkeetna, AK, stealing WiFi with Frank. Getting caught up.
Still have about 4 seats open in Nebraska if anyone wants a 3-Day to 1240 yards up a canyon. The “Alternates’ List” at Mifflin now includes Shep from last year.
Moving out of AK later this year, back to MS. That will open me up to more travel down in the lower 48, so maybe some new venues coming in ‘24. We’ll see.

Having dipped into this thread again from @Enough Said kicking it up with a new post, I reread some of it and came across this. Ok, not a clinic related post but….the above needs a bit of clarification.
By the by, @GB and I are very good friends and have chatted about this some time ago.
The Seekin Havak action is indeed a 700 clone and I have one in a JAE chassis (and after running it a bit to smooth out, it’s worked very well for me though it seems to like it’s bolt to be run w a bit of authority).
The Seekins HIT action is the one that’s not a 700 clone.
