I mean, maybe they were talking about an Ashbury tripod at sniper school?

We need a new thread where everything in it needs to begin with, 'This one time at sniper school....'
This one time, at nuclear weapons school..

We caught SSgt <Redacted> and TSgt <Redacted> doing the <Redacted> on top of a <Redacted> <Redacted>.

But we were cool with it because those ALCMs have ablative rubber like coating, which made it really easy to clean up the mess.

People are getting mad at me and saying this AM I am on a "Power Trip"

User Reported a MODERATOR for the post, which he admits, the mod was trying to help, but he didn't want it or ask for it, so it was reported as SPAM

When I questioned him about reporting my mod, for what I considered a helpful post, he told me to get off my Power Trip.

So, now, and this was the not first, I have been temporarily banning people for frivolous reports, as noted above, I am on a Power Trip

If I pointed out the post, you'd probably agree with me over him, but who knows,
The only non-spammer I've ever reported was Tucker.
He deleted his post and sent a 'mod-pm' saying it had been taken care of. LOL

Done wanted $24k to sleeve our sewer line, hard pass, just gonna jet it, only a few trouble spots

I like the hat, don't need the hat, don't want the thought to go to my head, I am already power tripping
$24K to sleeve The sewer line?!? Damn! It’d almost be cheaper to Cut and bust up the slab, replace the offending line(s) and re-cover the floors.

FYI, when you snake your drain make sure the company uses actual blades. Some just use a hook or loop. Look at it first hand, my old house took me three companies till I found one that uses blades. Makes all the difference.

Damn!!

@lowlight Was that Plumbline? They must be turning into rip-off artists whoever that was.

Whoever it was, I never want to use them. I

Next house I will ask for a camera before purchase (last one had it, probably cut roots before) and be there to watch it done.

I can replace outside the house if not an emergency. Can do inside too, but takes longer and bigger hassle.

It's all good, was Done Plumbing, there was some discounts available I think with Covid discounts and such, paying cash was $15, finance was $24,

It's not enough to sweat, a Jet job will give us a lot of time,

No, it's 90ft they said,

I about laughed at the figure and the option to finance it, LOL sure, finance that shit, literally, no thanks
For that, you can fly me out there and we'll do it in a weekend and have $23K left over to buy steaks and beers.

Are they high? Well, sorry... It's Denver.

City folk... for the love of all things holy. If someone tried that crap out here, they'd be tossed in the beaver pond to drown.

But do we have someone to iron the range reports?
Yes. Forgetful Coyote. He is sort of our probie/mascot.

He irons the targets, fetches boxes of grid squares, Spit-shines our Reeboks, and picks up Chinese.

Every club has cabana boys.

He is hoping he will earn Maser status in 10 years or so. Never happen. But he can try.

Cheers,

Sirhr

For $24k, you could buy your own (used) backhoe and do it yourself. How do these companies quote shit like that with a straight face?
Probably the state, county or city may require a license to get a permit for the work. Having that license is like having permission for strong arm robbery. Or.. they are the only ones in the area and well.... capitalism.

By far not the only ones around.
I had a lot done not that far from Frank. Full dig up, Diagnosed at 1600, done the next day by 1730 or so.
$7500.
Same price if paid on CC, cash, or financed (at 0%) for 12 months. Had to look it up.
Wasn't terrible after that, but was “free” borrowing for 12 if paid off.

Sleeving is much less man intensive (they had 6 or 8 guys) and no backhoe to pay for.

I thought it was usually half the price or less?
Does require access to a full size clean out though IIRC.

24k is unfucking believable.
IDK your AO ground content/conditions but if it isn't that rocky a replacement line could be bored in
(directional drilling) for around 2kish.
I help a family member a bit with this exact technique.
Only ground disturbance is at the drill and at the other end, not trenching from a to b.
