Re: So...what's ur occupation?

I am the Director of Facilities Management for a CCRC (Continuous Care Retirement Community).

Well, I know that I don't have a quite as exciting job as alot of you guys do, but I get to make a difference in the lives of the elderly every day.

I have anywhere between 285 to 300 residents that depend on me, so my job is still very rewarding in that sense. Money ain't too bad, but that is what you get for working for a non-profit orginization...

As far as doing a good job, I myself, as well as my crew, treat all of the residents here as if they are our family. I have come to appreciate all of them, and some I hold very dear to my heart. I got out of the corporate world where I felt that I was just a number, and I can actually make a difference.

To my residents, I am Donnie, or DK, or the maintenance man with the fish hook in his hat!! LOL!! ;)~

Couple things...1) Hard to do that if ssh (22) isn't allowed out unless using something like SSL Explorer (proxy aware). In that case, a time based heuristic will show you are sitting on a site for longer than the normal "surf time"...with a connection open. Once again, we watch you when you think no one is looking. You learn something now and again from a 320,000 node network. One last thing, that little circumvention you speak of with tunneling will cost you your job where I work.

Think outside the box. SSH doesn't have to run on port 22.

The only hope security has in restricting users is by making it hard enough that people don't want to find a way around it, or just shut it off.
