Socialists Don’t Really Believe in Socialism

Has there ever been a Socialist country that has succeeded and not went to shit?
Short answer, no. Much depends on where they get OPM. The USSR would have fell much sooner had it not been for the US an other country's paying them not to nuke us or go to war somewhere else. China is only alive today do to US money as well.

Exactly, China is building up their military to challenge our supremacy on the regional stage and overshadow our allies in Asia with our own money.

If we were to embargo China completely, they would collapse within a year from internal pressure.

Every time you buy anything made in or partially made in China or with materials from China, you directly fund the Communist party that is out to destroy us.

Unfortunately this country will never understand that till it's way too late. Idiot people want cheap garbage at any cost and then wonder why there are few jobs to be had. Politicians need suitcases of money. Corporate types would sell the world to Satan for more cash in their pockets without even being asked.

They don't want true socialism, they want YOUR money to pay for the pet projects that they hope will garner them more votes, so they can stay in power. If they truly thought selling barbecued babies would garner more votes, I wouldn't be surprised to hear them in favor of selling them.

They want power that comes from votes, and they think that by offering all sorts of benefits paid for with someone else's money they will acquire those votes.

I think all those who claim to be socialists should lead by example and give all their property, money and possessions to the masses in order to show us just how easy it can be.

great read
Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) owns multiple houses, has a seven-figure net worth, and collects a salary of $14,500 a month. Do you really think a guy like that truly believes the “free stuff” balderdash he’s regurgitated for decades? He admires Fidel Castro because he wants to be like him, and he’s enamored with bread lines because Sanders knows that government dependency is a helluva drug. I’m reminded of this every day when I look at the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics rationing ticket from my wife’s childhood in Poland. Newsflash: neither Lenin nor Stalin believed in socialism, either. They believed in power.
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) wasted no time getting a fancy pad in a tony Washington, D.C. neighborhood. Rumor has it the building’s energy sources are electricity and oil. Aaahhh, first-world living in Washington, D.C., where average monthly rents are higher only in 10 other cities across the globe. Higher taxes? Ha! Ocasio-Cortez’s mother just moved from New York to my home state of Florida to reduce her property tax bill. Hope she didn’t bring her daughter’s politics with her.

You're confusing socialism with communism. Socialists can be as wealthy as they like. They just pay high taxes like everyone else, and therefore contribute more to the shared economy. It doesn't work in countries like the US where the tax rate is low and you can deduct most of what you buy as well.

But if a rich man earns a million a year and a "poor" man earns 100.000 a year, the rich man will pay 500.000 and the poor man "only" 50.000 thus making the rich man contribute more to the common good, but still remain richer than the poor man. (If tax rate is set at 50% in this example)
