Soldier was planning to attack Ft Hood

Re: Soldier was planning to attack Ft Hood

Being AWOL and he had child porn with the headline charges?

PURE. SHITBAG.

Good for the gunstore for reporting him, and not letting history repeat itself.

It's a religion of peace and tolerance, this must be lie!

Re: Soldier was planning to attack Ft Hood

Pretty silly to be going around trying to buy smokeless powder for his evil plans. I take it studying was not his greatest skill.

That being said it would have been an epic fail watching him try to set off a suicide vest full of loosely packed bags of smokeless powder.

Re: Soldier was planning to attack Ft Hood

Any guy that waxes his eyebrow is ghey. (I still love my hairdresser, though, but he likes grown-ups and has no Jihad-intentions).

Re: Soldier was planning to attack Ft Hood

For every planned and competent attacker like Norway, there's a hundred or a thousand morons such as this guy, thankfully.

Re: Soldier was planning to attack Ft Hood

The only thing that could make the icing on the cake sweeter, is if the guy comes right out and says that his recruiter lied to him.

As long as the US electorate keeps voting in politically correct hyper-sensitive politicians the military will be forced to put common sense, wisdom, and experience to the end of the decision making process.

The national media has now officially defined the smokeless powder we all use for reloading as "bomb making materials".
The report I saw showed a shelf full of powder in a store and a guy holding a one pound can of Varget.
As much as the gun haters have concentrated on legislating bullets for so long, it's hard to believe they've pretty much ignored the powder.

Re: Soldier was planning to attack Ft Hood

Here in pa you have to show ID and get logged into a book if you buy Black Powder, but not smokeless, over the same counter. I guess they consider BP a serious potential explosive.
It used to be the filler in the old pineapple grenades. in fact, pre WW II prodiction was unfilled shells with fuses wrapped and nested, and a can of BP with a little funnel and measure. You got a case of grenades, filled them yourself, and screwed in the fuses. It gave the powder a much longer shelf life in storage.
If this guy was looking at "Inspire" magazine on the internet, and visiting Jihadi bomb-making websites, how come they didn't know? They sure are watching me, and I don't go to any of those places!

Confined in a simple pipe bomb, or a pressure cooker like he was using, it would work for his purposes. I think Black Powder would have been better, but that might have required him getting ID'd.

Re: Soldier was planning to attack Ft Hood

Saw this again on the news & I was thinking...a gun store in Texas, being "alarmed" with purchase of "3 boxes (not cases), a semiautomatic magazine, and some powder"...we all know they flat-out profiled him; how many fellow Texans regularly have purchased ammo. by the case(s), 5+ magazines at a time (esp. for a competition firearms), and a few pounds of reloading supplies?

Re: Soldier was planning to attack Ft Hood

How sick has the Army got that they granted this shitbag CO status? His religion doesn't object to war in general, just "bad" wars against the wrong Muslims. So now Muslims who wear the uniform get to pick and chose which wars they objects to?

I heard an interview with the gun store clerk. The tip off was Abdo buying the powder and asking questions that showed he didn't know what it was used for.

For a while (while Abdo was applying for CO status) he was the darling du jor of the anti-war crowd...
