I've got an Anschutz custom shop rifle, I believe it is a 1416, 64 action.
I couldn't find my cleaning rod, so I went and bought a Dewey .22 cleaning rod. I have what I think is a Possum Hollow bore guide, but it could be a Dewey, they look alike.......any way, my new cleaning rod will not go thru my bore guide, which I know I have used before...........measuring with a set of dial calipers.......the bore guide appears to be .020 smaller than the new rod........WTF........rod measures .207.....closest measurement I can get on the hole in the bore guide is .187........not all of my .22 attachments will fall thru the bore guide.........any one ever have this type of problem?

I had one 22 that had a barrel so tight that it rifled my Dewey rod.

    Use the .20 rod.
The .22 rod goes fine with my Sako barrel though, it is about a small difference.

    From Dewey's page:
Please note: .22 Rimfire and CZ Shooters – We recommend using .20 caliber cleaning rods, as the .22 caliber rods have been found to be at times too large to fit through those tight barrels. When ordering a .20 caliber rod for use with .22 caliber jags, mops, brushes, etc, you will need to order the 17A adapter.

no one thinks the the delrin bore guide may have shrunk over the years............maybe 5.......like I said, some of my jigs will fall thru the bore guide, some will not...........

Delrin is a phenolic that is engineered with characteristics that will remove the possibility of any shrinkage or expansion. It is a very stable plastic product. You have other issues.

you can say what you want........read my earlier post........

the cleaning rod would no go down the bore guide.........some of the attachments for said cleaning rod would fall thru bore guide, some would not.............

new bore guide, everything fits where it is supposed to.........

old bore guide goes to trash.......

generally just Kroil, or CLP.........I can't tell you what happened, but when measured the old bore guide was about .020 smaller than the new Dewey rod.

I agree, I have machined Delrin before, and wouldn't think it would shrink......but something happened to it.
