I have been lurking here ever since shooting my buddy's RPR 6.5CM a couple years ago. I have read and learned and looked up acronyms (there's still a few that I don't know yet). I tried to order a Sauer 100 Fieldshoot but the dealer didn't get their inventory updated so instead of waiting, I went with a Tikka CTR. Strike Eagle 5-25x56 is waiting on the CTR. I thought I wanted nicer glass, but as a beginner, I figure the SE will be far better than I can take adavantage of (range only). Waiting on the rifle so I can check the required ring height. Hope to put it in a Bifrost (I have held the Berzerk and the ergos felt great). Thanks for being a great source of info so far. Lots still to learn.

I'm just south of Greenville. Moved up from Atlanta about 2 months ago. Looking to join a range/club. I shoot a bit of clays and pistols too.

Welcome neighbor from Pickens County. Clinton House Plantation in Clinton, SC has a 1,000 yard range. They also have 1 mile but it is only open sporadically. There are DNR ranges (public and free) in Pickens and Spartanburg Counties. Spartanburg rifle goes to 200 but you shoot through a concrete tunnel, Pickens only 100. Both have a pistol range. Pickens also has clays, not sure about Spartanburg.

Im in Sumter, work in Summerville. I have access to a handful of private ranges along with a quarry that we can shoot out to a mile.

Nice! I have 400 in GA. I'm itching to get further. I've been beyond that one time and managed a first round hit at 906 and about 50% on the rest. Target was about 2 MOA square. There was a 1-1/2 MOA target at 960 but I got skunked. Couldn't see impacts in the mud and brush but mostly because it was a chance opportunity and I was still working up my load. It was still gratifying to hear that ping.

I'm trying to work out some things with my Coworker and the quarry owner to have either a small sanctioned match or just a fun shoot when the weather gets warmer.

I’m around the corner from you in Summerville. My shooting partner and I drive up to 7 hours to shoot matches. Would love one that’s closer. Count me in if you need participants or ROs.

Thanks for the info. Just had a look at their site, a little farther to drive but seems like the best option to join.

I'm located in Anderson. If Clinton House is going to be to far a drive you should check out the Belton Gun Club especially if you shoot clays. They only have a 300 yard rifle range but have a good clay setup.

Welcome to the addiction.

When I said it was farther, the range (indoor) I was a member of in Atlanta was under 3 miles from my house. Clinton House shows as 50 minutes away - not too bad and will deter me from burning through ammo too fast. I love shooting sporting clays and pistols. The rifle will be new to me and I kinda want to have the option to stretch it out. I met a guy at Dewey's who mentioned Belton to me and I was/am considering it. He offered to sponsor me. I'm waiting on my rifle to ship, I hope it's not another case of "ooops, we thought we had one for you". BTW, I am in Anderson county, just next to the Greenville county line (Saluda River).
