I have a .300 Blackout Aero Precision build kit with a 15" Enhanced handguard and I want the end of the Specwar 762 silencer to protrude out past the end of the handguard by no more than an inch... less if possible. The Specwar specs at 9"... and my initial plans are to use a 7.5" barrel, that has about 1/2" (maybe 5/8" to be more precise) of thread, so if the Specwar is 9"... it appears the unit when mounted would extend past the handguard right about an inch. With the barrel at 7.5" - 5/8" = 6-7/8" + the Specwar at 9" = 15-7/8". However, I am not sure about the mounting of the Specwar. Can someone owning the Specwar advise if the included ASR flash hider causes any additional length after the Specwar is mounted... and if so verify how much? I know I can go down to a 6.5" barrel if needed... if the mounting adds a half inch or so, that might be the route for me to take, but I'd like to keep it with the 7.5" barrel if possible, but don't want 2 inches sticking out past the handguard. This is strictly for fun... not hunting with it. Just looking to get the quietest .300 Blackout setup using subsonic ammo with a binary trigger, and the Specwar seems to fit the idea... and it is discounted heavily right now as well. Thanks in advance for any info on the mounting. |
