Rifle Scopes spend my $1000 on a scope

yes you can,
the leupold is a good scope, I have had many of them. If you are not stuck on it, you can get better to use for longer range.
If you are stuck at the 1k price point there are many options. If it were me , I would honestly be looking at a newer bushnell elite( new or used) A weaver real tactical( don't laugh I have a 3.5x15x50 and it has been used quite often more than my leupold mk4 let ) these come in 3.5x15 and 4x20 both ftp and 5o mm obj, decent turrets and can be had for 800 or less, and the reticles match the turrets mil/mil
I guess for me, although I dealt with 10 x for a long time, I feel more is better especially for over 600yds, I would be looking at 14-20 power on top end.
If leupold is where you need to be for whatever( maybe mil discount?) I would drop the money on a 4.5x14x40 long range target, send it to leupold for the new reticle conversion( very good reviews so far)(moa turrets moa reticle) and upgrade to m1/m2/m3 or what ever turrets you need, add the alumina caps and still be under 1k
good luck

Be patient and check out different optics before you buy one. It's all about opinion on here- Ford vs Chevy etc.. for 1K you can get a nice optic. Im not supporting or whatever any store but SWFA price matches 110% if you find a better deal on an optic.
Check out camerlands vortex demos-
Vortex Demo & Sample Gear - Camera Land NY
FFP PST mil/mil scopes for 750-800.00
- same with swfa's demo list
-or be patient for a good deal on here
Just an option- I had a mk4 lrt and really liked it.. TMR reticle. but it was mil/min and SFP- got to where that was bothering me some so I went FFP mil/mil- would never go back.

Vortex PST 6-24x50 ffp. I love mine. I can't speak to the Loopies though. I've shot through them, but never owned one. No need with the Vortex and NighForce lines. Haven't heard anything bad about them though.

CLNY are good people. Vortex would probably be your best Bang if you want Lit reticle et al. Also, SWFA might be an option

A lot of PSTs around, reach out to the Member Link Up section and see who has some scopes to demo.

Beyond that, pricing of the main store brands will yank your chain. Bushy DMR may be an option as I eat some of my words. The older unit pricing is down pretty good,
