    Hey guys,
My MDT set screws for my ACC are starting to free spin... no longer am I able to properly tighten my comb and LOP. Called MDT up and they sent me some set screws that utilizes an Allen key...
Anyone out there makes compatible tool less set screws?

    thanks!

I think I know what you mean. My 2 acc have 2 different screws.

My first is like this with the big black solid one piece screws that get tight when you try to tighten them.

My second from the blem sale has the little brass screws with a black cover that slips right before the screw actually gets tight. If you pop it off you can use a tool to tighten them but then its no longer toolless. I dont like this model of screws.

@MDT_OFFICIAL how do I get some more of those first version?

We would be happy to send you some replacement thumbscrews if you would like. It is possible that the wrong part number was entered if you did get the set screws. Please send an e-mail to [email protected], and we are more than happy to get you what you need. As it's been stated, they are a 1/4-20 thread.

We've never offered a one-piece screw, we used to use a round cover on the screw, and instead, we moved to the star-shaped on as some of the feedback we had was the round was a bit difficult to tighten. As for those ones we have phased them out of our line up. We can send you some replacements for the ones star ones you are having an issue with. Please send an e-mail to [email protected].

    Ahhh ok MDT :(
    I’ll go buy some 1/4X20...

    thanks!

+1 ... I have the new star ones, got the replacement, and it's just a weird design that keeps slipping. I love the old ones, they get tight, and if they get loose, they can get tight. The new star ones tend to slip. One way is to push down on the plastic when tightening it so it can grip the brass screw better.

The other thing to do is to use the little set screw on the other side, so I run set screws on the other side with very little tension so it's still adjustable when the star screws are loosened, but not as wobbly if the star screw gets loosened.

If they are slipping we will send you replacements, there were some that weren't quite right. We've addressed the issue but some got into circulation.
