Ok, I can’t seem to find any information on this. I’m trying to setup a digiscope, and I’m having a tough time finding a solution. I tried the Novagrade universal double gripper. Removed the rubber eyepiece cover (??) because the adapter kept pushing or pulling it off the eyepiece. Couldn’t find any adapters small enough for the eyepiece, so I built it up using a redneck solution (black electrical tape). It works ok, but doesn’t hold the phone square to the eyepiece and therefore results in black spots in the image. So, I ordered the phone Skope adapter. It won’t fit tightly to the eyepiece either. There‘s a very slight wobble that causes the black areas on the image. So, I used a small piece of tape to tighten the adapter fit. Unfortunately the correct amount of filler is somewhere slightly thinner than electrical tape. I can force the adapter on the eyepiece, but I’d hate to screw up my scope. It isn’t exactly cheap... Any recommendations???

Thanks!!

That’s interesting. I bought the Phone Skope adapter for my Spotter 45 and it was very tight. It was so tight that it took too much force to get on and was harder to get off so I opened it up slightly with fine emery cloth.

Maybe try a thin layer of paint or gap filling (low viscosity) super glue To build up the ID and then tune the fit with emery cloth?

I thought about using a couple dots of super glue and sanding them down to tighten the fit. Won’t take much.

Interesting that it was so tight on your scope and loose on mine. There’s definitely enough of a gap that you can feel the adapter move it you try to move it. When you attach the phone, the weight pulls the adapter away from the eyepiece and makes the image unusable.

What is the outer diameter of the eyepiece?

Have you looked at the universal adapter from Phone Skope?

You might try a custom build from Phone Skope:

I haven’t measured the eyepiece. Phone Skope indicated this adapter would fit. Just surprised it didn’t. Not sure if I’m the only one. Sounds like it. I’ve had this Spotter 60 for several years (at least 7), so maybe the eyepiece is slightly smaller than newer ones.

I’m getting ready to buy a 3D printer for my shop so one of the early test pieces will be a replacement adapter for the Phone Skope that has spring fingers that give you the grip without having to rely on a favorable tolerance stack. Another early project will be to prototype a DBM for a pre64 Model 70.

Works fine for the 15 minutes I used it before last light. Easy on and tightens up well. Going to take it to a match in a couple weeks and then an ELR shoot the end of August. I'll let y'all know what I think.
