Spotting scope to see .223 holes at 300 yards

Currently I am using Celestron 18-55 X 65 and I am unable to see .223 holes at 300 yards even with Shoot N C targets.
What spotting scopes in the $300-500 range would allow me to see the hits - if it all possible?
Are some target types better than others in order to see the hits easier?

The Bushnell 2-60x80 with ED glass might work for you:

I have used this model with varying success out to 300 yards with my AR.
